I have never really been that excited about St. Patrick's Day. I have a little bit of Irish in my heritage, but for whatever reason, the celebration has never drawn me in. I don't care for any of the traditional foods of the day, not a big parade girl, don't like beer. Nothing exciting about the day for me. That is until March 17, 2010. One year ago today our precious little red-haired granddaughter Ella Faith Felix made her entrance. She is the sweetest little gift, full of smiles and hugs and kisses.
I honestly cannot help but smile when I look at that darling little face. Happy Birthday sweet Ella--grandpa and I love you more than words can say!

Blessings!
She is a sweet heart (o: What a great gift she is to you.
A day you will never forget.
Wow, the years go by so quickly! I'm with you on the "holiday", but I have to admit I have fixed corned beef and cabbage the last few years - it's cheap and my husband likes it. Tasted pretty good tonight.
I've never been much on St. Paddy's day either; I don't think there is any Irish heritage for me. My dd (Kathryn) seems to enjoy it to a small extent, so I like it a bit more. Your precious Ella makes it a holiday worth celebrating...especially with her beautiful hair! My favorite actress is Maureen O'Hara, and I also love that adorable red head from "Ugly Betty" and "Glee", Jayma Mays. Watch out, word, here comes Ella Felix!
It's so awesome that she has red hair seeing as the day she was born on! What a sweetheart!
